What do you get when you combine a diverse array of queer faces, a camera, and a photographer inspired by her community and peers? If you’re Ashley Kolodner, you get “GAYFACE” an activism-motivated photography project that “celebrates sex, freedom of identity, freedom of association, and culture,” lending beautifully captured faces to the gay rights movement.
Kolodner is a Brooklyn-based artist, photographer, activist, and member of the LGBT community. Her “GAYFACE” photo project, a large-scale endeavor to humanize marginalized members of her community and showcase diversity is quickly gaining national attention.
